Hi!

I was just wondering if there was anyone who could help me with the pronunciation of some of the Vesten words.

Here are the ones I'm  particularly interested in, but if someone could help me with the general pronunciation, I'd be grateful.

Sigvald Mjolkke (there's a slash in the o, I don't know how to write it.)

Reidar Engnestangen

Jorgan Skaardal

Arvor Troelsen

Gjaeving Asbjornsson (the High King)

First, congrats on the kid.

As for how to do the pronunciation thing, basically if I could get a sillable per sillable guide, it would help (kinda like AEG did in the player's guide [Ves-ten-mah-nah-ven-yar]). Like that.

I really appreciate your help.

This is a bit difficult, as the phonetic values in english aren't terribly stable (fish can be spelled "ghoti" and all that)

in all these, roll on the r's and try gutturalizing a bit.

Sigvald Mjølkke: seeg-vald Mjil-ke (the "i" in Mjølke is pronounced as in "sir")

Reidar Engnestangen: Ray-dar  Eng-nay-stahng-'n (the ah in the "stang" syllable is an [a:] a long a pronounced similar to the 'ea' diphtong in "heart"

Jorgan Skaardal (should perhaps be "Jørgen" the name of one of my uncles): Yor-gahn Skor-dahl

Arvor Troelsen: Ar-vor Trou-el-sen (english has a real deficiency i 'o' sounds....

Gjaeving Asbjornsson (the High King) (I'll take the liberty of making this one Gjæving Asbjørnsson): Gje-veeng As-bjirns-son
