I don't have as much access to 7th Sea material as I'd like and I'm running a game where my players are breaking into a Castillian fortress near Avila. They're going to have to pass through the town to get there as well as use the town as a resource to get more info on the fortress. I've done my own coastal map for the region and was wondering if anything has already been published for the city. I'm in the process of making my own map, but was curious to see if I could save myself some time. Anywho, here's the work in progress... I've got the major roads and the coast done. The fortress is a little detailed for what I had in mind, so I'll probably "symbolize" it like I did the church in the center of town. Still some flourishes and details and aging to do...

I don't have anything on Avila. However, your map is off to a great start. As is, I would give it to players to use and make notes on.

If you add more to it, could you also include a title block to give yourself credit. That way when I borrow it, it won't be one of my many "yeah, it's cool. But, can't remember who made it" files.

Progress report: Here's the revised map. Still need to work on the border and add the mapmakers sigal. I went for a more hand-drawn lightly colored feel.

I think it looks good.

<> Thank you kindly. Added the final touches, so here you go. Would appreciate critique and/or suggestions/ideas.

I'm beginning work on the map for the catacombs beneath the fortress and I'll post them here as well.

I suggest putting a distance/scale on the map; any map really.

I think it looks great. The only critique I have is the size of some of the buildings seem to be off. For instance, the fortress and its earthen berms look like they could fit inside the church. But that could just be the map maker's emphasis on the church being more important than the the fort. Which i believe was a common practice.

Ravenshadow,

The map's not really to scale. I probably should remove the "new and accurate" part of the title.

Guardnacho,

your assessment is correct. The church is central and therefore largest. I hesitated to even include the fortress due to the size difference. However, since it is the focus of my players' being in Avila in the first place, I thought it would be best if they knew where it was relative to the town. I think I need to re-work that part of it to better match the town.
