Whoever gets Rinaldo better do him justice! Mind you, Sebastian rocked as his trusty manservant Jeeves last year...

If I rocked it is only because you rolled...

One thought I had, if I may break away from the Fate Witchs train of thought for a moment, involved a group of bitter and disillusioned former Knights of the Rose and Cross who have fallen from grace and have been brought together by a mysterious benefactor/employer specificaly for their knowledge of the Order so as to recover an item of "significant personal value" from a well guarded Chapterhouse/high ranking Patron/an Invisible.

I think this could be a lot of fun. Of course Black Jacks Rinnaldo as Inspector Cleausau idea is pretty fricking brillant too.

And I"m prepared to passionatly argue this point until nothing makes sense any more.

I wouldn't mind being an R&C Knight if I can't be a FW.

Sal said you had several ideas. What were the others?

Idea for the Origin? Game (totally inspired in Paranoia, and not afraid to admit it):

Have all the group of characters being Vaticine Priests (or Objetionist priests if you prefer), trying to solve some sort of mystery dealing the Syrneth, Sorcery, Cathayans, or whatever.

BUT, also make all players to secretly belong to a secret society or other group. All have public reasons to solve to mystery or fix the problem, but each has a second objective or agenda to fulfill. Some of this can be compatible among them, other? should be quite contradictory.

Some chars can truly be priests with close affinity to certain groups (Los Vagos, Die Kreuzritter, Pirate? Brotherhood), others can be infiltrated members (Rilasciare, Sof??, a Prince? Hand). You can even have a fully genuine inquisition member!

I too have to try this some time!

Actually what I said was that I have nothing in mind or a plot so toss me ideas and we will see what develops.

Pabloj, that's a great character twist idea but i do that sort of thing in every game I un with pregen characters.

But eh brings up a great point. anybody at Origins for Saturday night and no plans for early sunday (like driving many hours home) NEEDS to join us for MegaParanoia. Last year, all 109 players stayed until the end at 5am. Fun was had. clones were terminated. backs were stabbed. transbots were ridden. etc. Look for it under Wyvern Productions.

Damn! Asking for exposition is like kryptonite to NPCs!

Well, since you asked so nicely, here's another one...

CSI: Kirk

An affluant and highly skilled member of the Swordsmens Guild has been found murdered. Stabbed, poisoned, shot twice (once with an arrow and once with a bullet) and hung. Enter the CSI's (Criminal Swordsmen Investigators), a group of Swordsmen who specialize in investigating foulplay in duels. They've been tasked with figuring out who killed him and with what. The problem? The victim was an infamous, womanizing, arrogant drunkard with any number enemies who would love to see him dead for one reason or another. The Players would have to navigate a web of lies and deception ranging from lowlifes in seedy taverns to highranking members of the Vedel League and quite possiblely even Linnae Knute himself.

CSI: Kirk

Hey! I wouldn't mind playing a 7th Sea CSI Investigator if I can't be a FW or an R&C Knight!

Any more great ideas? Sal may become pretty busy.

Asked and answered!

A young fate witch is tortured by dreams of events yet to be. She sees horrific murders were the brains have been removed. She sees people vanishing from their lives, some return with no awarness of their absence; some never return. She sees a gathering Dark in the comming days, a Dark that threatens to envelope all of Theah. In her visions, a handful of souls rise up to fight this Dark but the outcome is never clear. Driven to take action she brings them together. She speaks to them the one message that holds the key to the future of every man woman and child in Theah.

first off, Sebastion, boo hiss (and damn why didn't I think of that)...

second, back to the fate witch group idea,

Similar to (but not so drastic as) the dream of the sunken eye, every fate witch in Numa (hey that damn fan-based ebook has to be good for something) has a simultaneous premonition of a gigantic ?fate knot,' a confluence of events between the old, the young, living and dead, men, women and children, which, if left untended will leave the fate of everyone in Numa hopelessly entwined.

But the matriarch of one family in Numa, a powerful (if somewhat eccentric) fate witch, has a plan. If the younger fate witches of the family can successfully resolve a series of seemingly unrelated events, it should, in effect, cut the Gordian (fate) knot. But each moment they delay the knot tightens, time is short, and the fates of everyone lay in the balance...
