Hey all, at Origins WIZKIDS were selling thee boosters for 13.00 and Sal and I stood in line to get some...then sent our significant others to do the same as they were limiting the purchases and punching the con badges and we did it on the principle of the matter...Anyways.I just wanted to drop a note that these are neat little ships. I will be using these for 7th Sea no doubt...one day. As for the game and playability itself, I am not sure, as i would not stand in line to demo it. To be honest I really am not interested in playing it (never was a big fan of CCGs, Clix games) and thus know nothing about the game. I did hear from someone that there was a loophole in the game, which I hope they fix before its official release. The loophole being that if you RAM a ship you take a disporportionate amount of damage as a Ram-er as opposed to the Ram-ed.Anyways, I just wanted to drop a note about how neat the little ships were. They are in card, which you punch out and then build the ship with and then when you are done you can simply put the pieces back into the card. This actually does work, but for myself (if I was going to play the game) I would have appreciated all of the stats on a single card and without the punched effect as I hate the idea of putting these things together and taking them apart all of the time.Still, if your a 7th Sea GM, I can almost garuntee you'll want a few ships, even if just for fun.

alright, me and sebastion and krugerannd played it monday night.  exploited that ram thing for a couple of rounds before they wised up. 


Play 50 point games if you can.  the recommended 30 points will give you three ok ships or two good ones.  (Boring) 


Mind your masts, they will snap at the breaks for sails. 


Crew is worth the points. 


It ain't something I'll play a lot but it'll pass some down time this summer until the new wears off. 


It isn't about who sinks what, it's about getting the gold home: remember that and you'll win often.

'Pirates of the Spanish Main' has been officially released.  I have bought a few packs - and look like buying a whole bunch more.  Guess I am hooked well and truly.


  Love it - great range of ships (which will be doing duty in my 7th Sea campaigns as required, the original reason for my interest) and nice straightforward rules.


  Seems to have done very well in the first days here in Australia.  One of my favourite Sydney game shops, "The Tin Soldier", sold twelve boxes in one day.

Ok, between the origins pre-release and the release yesterday, I have a total of 2 pirate promo ships (same one) and 12 packs.


There are 2 ships per pack. (random insert) plus a lousy cardstock island and a treasure card and maybe a character card.


I've got a total of 26 ships.  3 are English, 12 spanish and 11 pirate (including those promos) 


Even Wizkids knows I'm a castillian at heart.

I've been keeping my eyes open for this but I haven't been able to find it.  Drat.


I still say Shadowrun Duels is an overlooked gem.

I picked up a half-dozen of the "boosters" that they were selling at Origins. I have not even bothered to look at the rules to be honest, I rather dislike card games and clix-games for the most part, but I wanted a few of the ships, just in case I actually ever do do anything with sailing vessels in my swashbuckling game.


I do like some of the personality art that WizKidz has on their webpage, very nice. It is a shame that AEG didn't think of this idea in conjunction with their card game, would have been possibly very neat.
