go ahead, i'll put them with the 15 others i got that have never been punched out of the cards and are all piled up on my desk, untouched since i looked at them 2 days after origins.  i pretty much am immune to  collectable and tradeable cards, minis or minis from cards. The only reason i got the ones i did was for the long off day i actually use (a) ship(s) in my 7th Sea games.  right now...deep in ussura...not seeing  me touching them for quite the while.

Have fun though, as the say in Canada...that's what it's all aboot, eh.

heh, as for the Dark Side...give me some sugar, baby.

Hey, if any of you have an extra El Dorado card (PS-022), PM me with what you want for it. Mine broke in half (deck card 1/2) when I was trying to take it out for a game this afternoon. Just my luck, one of the few cards that isn't a repeated one and it breaks.

I think I have one, but I'll have to check.

But I REALLY recommend that once you assemble them, you leave them that way.  The ships are made from very thin(.035") sheet styrene, which as we have all seen stresses and breaks.

If you want to try and repair it, this is my suggestion.

Get some wax paper and Cynoacylate glue(superglue).

If you get it as a hobby store, you can get it in a variety of viscosities.  Get the thinner stuff for this application.

Put the pieces back together, lying on the wax paper.  Apply glue to the crack.  The wax paper will prevent it from sticking to the table top.

If you use model glue, you will get a stronger joint.  Apply the glue(very small amount)  to the broken edge.    With both parts lying on the wax paper,  gently push them back together.  This takes a little more coordination.

A tooth pick can be used to reinforce a broken mast, just glue it in place, but be sure to leave enough room for the tab to join with the deck.

you could email the company and see if they would be willing to send you a replacement card.  who knows, they might...you certainly don't lose anything by asking.

Yes,  being able to disassemble your entire fleet down into a deck of cards sounds cool in principle, but the ships  (with care) last much longer if kept assembled.  The thing is that repeated assembly / dis-assembly increases the odds of breakage, and probably weakens the components in any case.

Used to keep my fleet  in a tupperware container, then moved the lot  to a  (large) tackle / tool box  I picked up cheap.  Separate internal  box for the ships - doesn't matter if they get seriously jostled, because there is nothing weighty enough  in the box to hurt them.

Been very lucky, I think.  Had precisely ONE broken mast so far.  My repair job was not as elegant as Lamork's - cut a couple of slivers of plastic from a card, and used them as splints superglued to either side of the broken area.  It's worked well - not too obvious.  The thing to watch out for is that the coating used on the plastic seems particularly vulnerable to superglue - use the latter very carefully.

The plastic is actually susectible to the solvent used in superglue, which basically dissolves most polar polymers. A small amount you can just about get away with, if you need to glue more look for "plastic cement" which can be used safely on these kind of things.

I had a similar probem, the rear mast of my HMS Titan snapped because the slot was just that tiny bit too small. Managed to glue the clean break fortunately.
