TrivolteThe swordmasters of Vodacce have spent lifetimes mastering the art of the duel, but if there is one thing that can always triumph over skill and training, it is sheer spite. Firenzo Trivolte was a swordsman of no small merit, but lacked the discipline and drive to compete with his younger brother Nicolo in almost any conflict. The younger Trivolte was a rising star in the world of Vodacce Swordsmanship, and was nearly undefeated in any duel. The one thing that the younger Trivolte scion could never match the eldest in was sheer cruelty, and from the time they were boys, Firenzo could often be seen holding his brother down and repeating "Non dovreste colpirsi!" over and over again while hitting the boy with his own arm. When Nicolo Trivolte went on to bigger and better things as an adult, Firenzo usually managed to find a way to enact his spite in frustrating, but ultimately harmless ways. One day he might romance the courtesan his brother had an eye on, or another day he might put trained spiders into his younger brother's boots. Eventually, Firenzo realized that this form of cruelty could be turned to a more practical use. He proceeded to challenge Nicolo to the only duel he would ever win against his brother. He twisted Nicolo's arm behind his back, and starting attacking his brother with his own sword, all the while tormenting him with his old boyhood chant "Non dovreste colpirsi!" When the duel was over, Firenzo decided to turn this unique style into a combat philosophy. Since then, the school has attracted many students, mostly less-talented older brothers who enjoy the idea of besting a Swordsman with his own tool.CuriculumPugilism Dirty FightingKnacks:Wall of Steel (Unarmed) Stop Thrust (Enemy's Weapon) Double Parry (Improvised Weapon/Unarmed) Exploit Weakness (Trivolte) Stop Thrust: The students of Trivolte have learned to use their opponent's own weapons against them. When attacked, the Swordsman can use the opponent's weapon to make a Stop Thrust attempt, following the usual rules for Stop Thrust, whether they are catching the end of a rapier and bending it around to stab into the attacker's arm, or guiding the attacker's kicking leg into his own face. Members of the Trivolte school do not gain the Swordsman's Guild Membership for free. Instead they treat Attack (Improvised Weapon) as a basic Knack.ApprenticeThe Apprentices of Trivolte gain a free raise to all Stop Thrust rolls made. In addition, they do not suffer the off-hand penalty when wielding an Improvised Weapon in their off-hand.JourneymanThe Journeymen of Trivolte have mastered the school's signature trick, the Giacopo Twist. After a successful use of their Stop Thrust knack, the Journeyman can make a Disarm attempt using Panache + Stop Thrust versus the target's Panache, if the Journeyman succeeds, he now has the target's weapon in his hand. In addition, the Journeyman of Trivolte may use any object that he can carry in his hand(s) as an Improvised Weapon.MasterThe Masters of Trivolte are always watching for a potential attack and have learned to use every available opportunity to defend themselves, they may now use their Double Parry knack as a Passive Defense. Please tell me what you think.
