Please tell me one thing, my friends and I were stuck in rather simple question.
Players Guide on p. 183 says that drama dice can be added as a kept die to "any one roll".
As well I've heard opinion that DD can't be added as a kept die to Damage roll. The source of that opinion is the FAQ on official forum of AEG.
Please tell what do you think who is right ??? Can DD be added to Damage roll ???
Thanks in advance,
Dracosha

Nope. They cannot.
Player's Guide, PG 22: "Drama Dice cannot be used after the Action has been successful. In other words, you can't add Drama Dice to the effect roll. You can only use them to increase the likelihood of your success."
Damage is an effect roll the player makes as a result of the attack.

Sorry, so there appears to be a contradiction in rules.
Rule on p. 183 of PG (first paragraph of the stcond column) explicitly says that:
You can add one Kept die to any one roll. This can be done after the roll is made, but must be done before the GM describes the result of the roll in question. You can spend as many of your Drama Dice a you like on any single roll.
Regarding the "application to effect not to the likelihood of success" issue, you can presume that Damage roll is an action roll aimed at inflicting a Drama Wound on a character.
Edit (RS): Please don't use my font and colour. I use them specifically.

Before that Effect Note I mentioned above the book states:
"The first is to add a kept die to any one Action." Emphasis is AEG's, not mine, btw. Damage is not an Action. The Action is attacking with a sword. Damage is a result of an Action. Think "Cause & Effect."
You arguement that the Damage roll is the cause and the effect is that the guy is hurt is a time-order mistake. The cause is an attack. The effect is damage.
Damage is increased in dice by making Raises on the Attack.
EDIT:
Seeing that this was likely to go back and forth, endlessly, I sent a email to the source--Mr. Wick (creator, designer and writer of the game--about the wording and rules in regards to Drama Dice and Damage. I normally don't like bothering him about stuff, but he was supremely kind enough to reply.
I got the following response to the an regarding this.
Drama Dice can only be used on an Action. No using drama dice on your damage rolls.
Thanks for the kind words.

Can I disturb you, guys, again with some question ... Another time I'm confused with wording of Stop-Thrust. I read all topics here related to discussion of this knack and didn't find anything relevant for me there.
1. Vodacce states that when you perform Stop-Thrust you use "the opponent's blade as a guide for the swordsman's own", so can I Stop-Thrust any attack that does not include blade attack (Corpse'a'Corpse for example) ?
2. There is no mention that Brawn is not added to your S-T damage. Moreover the descrription of Villanova School in VOdacce book (p. 96) states that using S-T allows swordsman to "deal devastating damage". I presume that in terms of 7th Sea 3k2 hardly can be called "devastating damage". So what is the source of opinion that Brawn is not added to the S-T damage ??
Thanks in advance.

I'll try to answer
@1 The describing text is just fluff, the rules bit says nothing about needing to be made against bladed weapons, so I'd say no.
@2 I think the rules clarification was made here by Thwak, who at that time was the official "rules guy" at AEG, he was also himself a renowned expert on the general mechanics of the Villanova school iirc.

Yeah Good ol' Thwak loved using that school. Besides with some DD and a few dmg raises you get pretty good dmg out of it. Really it is all about the timing during the duel. You just gave the guy 34 FW but he passed his brawn check, foolishly he attacks so you stop thrust him with a couple raises for dmg, spend some DD and put the hurt on. Gotta look for the opportune moment and all that
It looks to like Lord Nabu hit the nail on the head w/this one.
