Hello everyone!

Currently, my players are planning a covert operation to infiltrate the Vaticine Archives to steal a heretical text that is the key to finding the legendary treasure of Saint Rogers. What I'm looking for are some cool ideas of what kind of difficulties they might encounter during this endeavour.

Does "The Church of the Prophets" have any information regarding the layout of the Vaticine, and the nature of the Vaticine archives?

Also, I'm wondering if there is a Seventh Sea analogue to Marco Polo. One of my players has a goal to mount an expedition to Cathay, so it would be nice if he could also find something about Polo's trip that could help him conduct one of his own.

Thanks for your time!

The short answers to your questions are yes, no, and yes, but lets see if I can elaborate.

CotP does have some nifty maps of not only Vatacine city but also the Cathedral and several other locals.  What it doesn't give you is any details about what's inside.  That you'll have to do for yourself.

There is a 7th Sea equivalent to Marco Polo but for the life of me I can't seem to find a reference to him. Sorry.

Mark

So, did you want some suggestions for fun and assorted traps tricks etc in the Cathedral? (if so I thought of the movie National Treasure.  I know it's plot is swiss cheese, but some of the traps were nifty).

I recall mention of a Polo type character, well actually, more of a Columbus sort that went out and never returned. But I can't remember if it was in a draft or actually was released. I know the ship was supposed to be found someplace really odd beyond the barrier.

WARNING SPOILER ALERT!!!

Christobal Gallegos is 7th Sea's answer to Columbus and yup went out never returned.  I thought he was smushed up against the barrier (and I do remember that there was A ship found in the  frozen wilds  of Ussura.  However, I thought it had something to do with Noah's Arc, though I could be wrong).    Back to MP,  I'm pretty sure I read in one of the timelines somewhere that a Marco Polo type went out in search of a good time.

I would absolutely love some suggestions regarding interesting and nasty things I can subject my players to.
