well ask the game dealer when in doubt, right?
Dragonology was out last year. nice components, sharp world map board the players travel around attempting to capture dragons. each character has a special ability that allows for easier capture of a certain type of dragon.
Play style is pretty typical of most american boardgames. Take turns moving possibly attempting a capture and then someone else takes their turn. it's great for midrange age children (say 7-12) the grown-ups will have a pleasant diversion but not all that interested in the play.
Piratology and Wizardology are new this year. Again, both will be standard turn based move around the board games. I have not gotten my hands on either box as of yet. Pirateology will allow for more choice in directional movement than dragonology seemed to have. it appears by piece count to be a 5 player game maximum which is an odd selection for a game. but you get cool ships and captain pieces, 50 gold coins (i'm guessing plastics right now) some odd dice and a bank shaped like a skull for the middle of the board.
It's new enough Knucklebones magazine still has not reviewed it. When I get a copy in, I'll let you know what's up with it in a more definitive manner.
but really, just go get Dread Pirate and never think about pirate boardgames again.

Damn! Asking for exposition is like kryptonite to NPCs!
